Celebrate the winter season with indoor and outdoor activities, Alaskan huskies and more at Spring Valley Winter Fest!
Spring Valley Winter Fest, sponsored by the Spring Valley Nature Club, is set for noon-3 p.m., Feb. 15 and 16 at the Nature Center, 1111 E. Schaumburg Road. Activities include horse-drawn wagon rides, winter-themed crafts and games, marshmallow roasting over a bonfire, and dog sledding demonstrations. Snowshoe walks through the prairie also will be available, weather permitting.
“We’re excited to host this annual winter family event,” said Dave Brooks, Spring Valley manager. “Snow tracks give us a glimpse into the busy wildlife that roams the valley, and this event is a great opportunity to observe nature while having fun!”
Warm winter beverages and food will be available for purchase. Activities will take place both inside and outside the Nature Center.
Admission is $3 per person or $12 per family. Admission is free to children 3 years old and younger.
