Go pumpkin picking like never before with Schaumburg Park District’s Pumpkin Splash, presented by Schaumburg Bank & Trust Company, N.A., A Wintrust Community Bank.
The zero-depth pool of The Water Works, 505 N. Springinsguth Road, will become a floating pumpkin patch from 6-8 p.m. on Oct. 18.
Activities include pool pumpkin picking, a DJ, refreshments and pumpkin decorating.
“We love offering this unique twist on traditional pumpkin picking,” said Kathleen Benson, Bock Neighborhood Center manager. “After swimming around searching for the perfect pumpkin, children can have fun decorating it.”
Scheduled pumpkin swims will take place throughout the evening and all other pool areas will have open swim. Parents must accompany children age 12 and younger.
The hunt schedule includes:
• 6:15 p.m. (5 years and younger)
• 6:30 p.m. (6 years and older)
• 6:45 p.m. (Open swim in the zero-depth pool)
• 7 p.m. (Adult pumpkin dash)
Cost is $14 for residents and $18 for non-residents. Registration deadline is Oct. 17.
