Pollinators in Your Preserve: Monitoring for the Future (A free special presentation in the Nature Center at Spring Valley)
Please join us as Dan Sandacz, Restoration Ecologist with the Lake County Forest Preserves, shares information on the threats faced by native bees and other pollinators. Lake County Forest Preserve District ecologists began monitoring the relationships between plants and pollinators in 2023 as part of their overall ecological monitoring efforts. Dan will discuss the Plant-Pollinator Monitoring Program and how the ecologists use the results of monitoring efforts to inform restoration and conservation strategies. Throughout the presentation he will discuss native bee diversity, ecology and native landscaping recommendations to support pollinator habitats.
Note: program will begin following the Nature Center’s Spring Volunteer Meeting.
