The United States Tennis Association (USTA) is honoring Schaumburg Park District's Schaumburg Tennis Plus as a recipient of the 2024 USTA Outstanding Facility Award! USTA is the national governing body for the sport of tennis and the recognized leader in promoting and developing the sport’s growth on every level in the United States. The award will be presented August 27 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City during the 2024 US Open.

"We are excited to receive this award as recognition of the high level of dedication from our staff and the park district to support and promote the growth and reach of the game," said Rick Wissig, STP director of tennis. "We offer programs for all levels at an affordable price at one of the top facilities in the Midwest."

Located at 1416 N. Payne Road, STP offers a variety of amenities, including eight indoor tennis courts, a fitness center and fitness studio, a four-lane lap pool, six racquetball courts, a basketball court and a multi-sport court for volleyball and badminton.

"Schaumburg Park District purchased STP in 1998 after years of hosting programs at outdoor tennis sites", said Ryan Gangler, superintendent of recreational facilities. "We've directed resources into fixing up the eight indoor courts, upgrading the lighting and getting the best tennis director and staff."
