Families are welcome to join Spring Valley staff and volunteers for this free fishing clinic. This clinic is perfect for kids and families without much fishing experience. A limited number of rods/reels will be available for use, and bait will be provided.
Tackle Loan Program: In cooperation with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Schaumburg Park District is proud to provide free fishing opportunities through the Access to Fishing program. A limited number of fishing poles and tackle kits are available daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for check out at the Spring Valley Nature Center for use at any public fishing pond or river. Tackle use is free and must be returned within one week. Fishing is not permitted at Spring Valley, however, staff will happily recommend local places to fish.
