Releases take place June- September at 10:15 AM and 2:15 PM
*(Weather and butterflies must cooperate.)
- Located just outside the rear entrance of the Nature Center.
- Learn how YOU can help monarch butterflies at home.
- See eggs, caterpillars, chrysalises and butterflies.
Spring Valley provides many opportunities to learn about the fascinating life cycle and incredible migration of monarch butterflies. Visit the rearing station again and again throughout the summer to see how the butterflies are doing and participate in their release. Learn about the importance of milkweed and how to identify this plant when out for a hike.

*Butterfly releases will not occur on chilly, rainy or windy days OR when no adult butterflies have emerged from their chrysalises and their wings have dried for hours.
