Schaumburg Idol 2018 Judges
The Schaumburg Park District presents Schaumburg Idol, the chance to discover America's next singing superstar from the Schaumburg Park District area. Here are the judges:
Andrew Norte discovered his passion for music at age 9 when he began taking piano lessons. His first musical experiences were in church where he sang, performed piano and singing solos, accompanied choir and acted in plays. It wasn't long before he knew his true calling was music!
Andrew graduated from Northern Illinois University with a bachelor’s of music in education. At NIU, Andrew played piano in jazz combos and ensembles, sang in choir and participated in marching band playing alto sax. He has been working for the Schaumburg Park District since 2008 in various musical capacities including teaching voice and instrumental lessons, accompanying musicals, directing vocal rehearsals and accompanying singers during Schaumburg Idol's very first season.
Andrew is also the music director at Washington School in Schiller Park and the jazz piano player for the Illinois Army National Guard.
Judge Beth Waller has been involved with the arts since she was 3 years old. Her dance experience includes teaching and performing ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, lyrical and modern. She also loves swing and has directed a studio for 17 years.
Waller began teaching at 13 as an assistant in her home studio in Urbana, Ill. She has acted in plays since childhood. Her theatrical experience includes directing, producing, choreographing and even writing several children’s plays. She has produced/directed small productions as well as an $80,000 production of Joseph for the Paramount Arts Centre in Aurora.
Beth’s musical experience includes studies in piano, violin and voice. She has competed regionally in voice and violin and has directed several children’s choirs and swing performance choirs. Her visual arts experience includes study in water color, charcoal and ink, and basic art history.
Judge Waller has had the honor of teaching and working with many young people who have become professional artists. The list includes Brett Rowe, music director and conductor for numerous venues and current pianist for Mary Poppins and Altar Boyz; Becca Caliendo, international opera performer; Katherine Bruno, principle dancer for Salt Creek Ballet; and Sam Renzetti, a past judge on Schaumburg Idol.
As a child Erica watched as music mesmerized crowds, pulled people together, and captured hope and happiness and she knew she wanted to be a part of creating that.
In her now 16 year career in the entertainment industry, Erica has worked for 4 major record labels, including Atlantic Records as Product Manager, and 2 entertainment marketing companies. Today she continues her work in celebrity product placement, branding and music marketing. She has worked with: Disney, Warner Bros Studios (motion picture soundtracks), Panic at the Disco, Paramore, Kid Rock, Need To Breathe, Rob Thomas, T.I., Trans-Siberian Orchestra, NFL Network, and many other products including music video productions.
Isabella Stefania is a Singer-Songwriter and Independent Recording Artist working out of Chicago, Nashville and Southern Florida. Her music is a self-described mix of Trop-Rock and Country that she calls “Island Country”.
Her original songs deal with topics ranging from modern love and relationships to beach life and the perfect summer.
While waiting to sign with a major label that fits her style, Isabella has gained a following in the Trop-Rock, Parrothead, Tropical and Island Song communities. Her songs are in steady rotation on ten traditional and internet radio stations and can be heard all across the USA, Caribbean and Tropics. Her ten original song album “Live Today” has four songs charting steadily on various Trop-Rock/radio request charts and can be found on all major music media sites such as iTunes, Spotify and iHeartRadio.
When Isabella isn't working with top notch producers in Nashville or gaining inspiration on a sunny beach, she can be found playing at cozy local venues, fundraisers and stages of all types. Her most memorable performances include a live show at the SeaRay Yachts Booth at the Miami International Boat Show, being on the Main Stage at Opry Mills Mall in Nashville and Opening for Legendary Trop-Rocker Eric Stone at the Cruising Outpost Magazine Cruisers’ Party. Through her music, Isabella Stefania wants to be an inspiration to young musicians with a message of following your dreams, setting goals, working hard, reducing negative influences and never forgetting to “Live Today”.
Isaiah Grass is an American Singer/Songwriter based in Chicago. He is ranked No.1 on the Chicago Reverbnation Pop Charts.
He has over 300k followers on social media, and a loyal fan base that continues to grow both locally, nationally and overseas. Isaiah's music is an array of pop/dance and acoustic songs that are suitable to a wide demographic of listeners.
He has performed at well-known venues such as: House of Blues, Taste of Chicago, Hard Rock Cafe, Six Flags, Toyota Park, among others in Chicago, New York, Florida, Nashville, etc. In 2013, Isaiah won the award for "Male Pop Vocalist of the Year" from the International Music & Entertainment Association.
As of now, Isaiah has performed on (5) TV stations, released an album, and his music has been played on multiple radio stations. Aside from being a singer Isaiah is also a fashion model, therefore he has been seen in magazines, commercials, billboards, and more!
