Make some noise and workout like a rock star at Schaumburg Park District’s new POUND® class.
Ditch the headphones and enjoy this exhilarating new class from 6:15 to 7 p.m. on Thursdays, beginning Nov. 1 at the Community Recreation Center, 505 N. Springinsguth Road.
POUND® is the world’s first cardio jam session inspired by energizing, infectious, sweat-dripping fun of playing the drums. The class incorporates a mix of cardio, strength training, yoga and pilates, all while using drumsticks to further enhance your workout.
“The new POUND® fitness class is an exciting way to add some fun to your workout routine,” said Charissa Tischhauser, fitness supervisor. “Using the Ripstix®, which are drumsticks specifically designed for exercising, you will rock to the music while toning muscles throughout your body.
Class is for ages 14 and older. POUND® is offered to Fitness Unlimited Membership holders at no additional cost. Daily cost for the class is $6 for residents and $8 for non-residents. The first class held on Nov. 1 is free.
